What's your opinion about Metallica before and after Cliff Burton and also about Cliff Burton? Later I learned to appreciate Burton and his style, he seemed to be the creator of much of that early stuff that in a way Metallica is known for and they play in their concerts etc.

Passed away in that bus crash in Sweden. Tragic. Kind of feel like if he had lived longer he would have taken Metallica into a better direction, dunno.

My opinion is they lost the key player in their group, so they treated a competent musician (Jason) like shit, so now they have a "Yes Man" that does what they want. They have been aimless since he died, but it has allowed their music to keep evolving, instead of bands like Slayer that never changed.

Anyone tried reading the book it's based on, Johnny Got His Gun? It's quite interesting, but I remember reading it first when my English wasn't yet up for it... Highly confusing.

I have seen the movie, but it's been so long ago that it needs a rewatch. I wasn't even aware there was a book. I know Metallica bought the rights to the movie for the One video.

I didn't know that it was based on a book (or a movie).

Not Metallica... Aphex Twin: Rubber Johnny

Seizure warning. Also if we’re doing weird videos now...

Edit: Also joking aside, Prison Sex, both the video and the actual song, is deeply fucking disturbing

And by Zombies, I mean "Infected" as in Zombies on Cocaine (or some drugs and shit, idfk).
meh. the whole "infected" meme is just a far less interesting version of the zombies from return which basically couldn't be killed, ran, could formulate plans, speak, and actually had a motivation.

Actually that sounds more interesting than the typical zombie.
have you not seen return of the living dead? dude, you gotta! its not just the recently deceased either. its everything that's ever been dead in Louisville, Kentucky.

Dodged a bullet on that one, ya did.
i enjoyed what i little i saw. didn't have shit on TNG or DS9 but early trek is usually kinda lame.

i will say it has the best theme since TOS

On the subject of Metallica, only album of theirs i can't stand is St. Anger and even that has some okay songs. The documentary on the production of the album is much better than the album itself, but even that can be a little overly dramatic at times.

I was trying to get a coworker to watch Oldboy, giving him the premise without giving away too much, you know? Then another Coworker heard and immediately asked me if "that the movie where..." and almost dropped the big twist. The worst part is that the guy only knows the Shitty american remake so he was gonna spoil the ending using the shitty version as the basis.

I watched the original Oldboy a week or so ago and even after being spoiled by the major plot twists, the movie was still very entertaining. And yes, no one should watch the american remake, it's garbage and completely misses the point of pretty much every scene it tries to replicate from the original.

My friend introduced me to Aphex Twin. So good brah. Ambient mixes of theirs on Youtube are great to fall asleep to.

The show never finds it's sealegs like the others did. probably because all the characters behave erratically because they all have multiple personalities do to the multitude of writing teams. well all besides the Magic Native American Commander whose actor figures this out early so he just phones it in and is trying to get fired for the entire series but they just keep giving him money instead and Harry Kim, the most boring star trek character ever. There are some good episodes but they are among some of the worst TV you'd ever watch.

like two thirds of TOS is pretty shit. i've already seen plenty of bad trek. altho i gotta say the cast must not of left much of an impression because the only one's whose names i remember are captain janeway (because MC), neelix (memorable in the same way jar jar is), harry kim (because i specifically hate that name) and tuvok for being a black vulcan.

TWD syndrome...
well TWD also has a shitty network that fired its creative vision and gives it no budget...

aaaaaanyway,

i found that one scene
