"Oh no, they are jsut gonna be on the navigation menu so people see them and then they contact us on the phone to get the information"

Why do people still not get what the point of having a fucking website is?

When something is essentially magical, not at all understood by the person, they will see it only in ways they can comfortably understand.

In this case the website is likely perceived literally as an electronically delivered paper catalog.

You can try to explain things, but it just doesn't sink in; they see only what they know.


Such a person might routinely make printed copies of an automated excel sheet (because they managed to get it to print, and then had one in hand; "success!"). The explanation of the benefits to using [whatever the thing is] as intended, are unfamiliar voodoo... or often seen as valid, but too much of a complex time sink to pursue at the moment—when all they need is to just get it working so there is progress on their immediate goal.

You know what's fun? Explaining someone why RGP colours on your monitor can not be printed in CMYK. And they don't believe you.
 
Lotta people also wanna include sign language on their text.... despite deaf people being able, to you know, READ. Then you tell them that they would need to GASP have someone actually do a video detailing the entire 10 paragraph article in sign language and that every single new article on the website woul also require that, it's like they never considered those things didn't just get summoned from the aether.
