Fallout 4 DLC revealed

Looks way too troublesome for me. I played New Vegas with Hardcore mode always enabled, but this Survival mode doesn't give me the same motivation to enable it, unless they also disable the quest markers/pointers. :P

So does survival mode add a time limit for stimpacks to completely heal you? I found that was the only thing that made Vegas's hardcore mode hard, all the other additions did was make me waste a few caps.

It seems like they might have outdone Obsidian's Hardcore Mode. At least conceptually. We'll see how well it works when implemented into the actual game I suppose.

It already does. The higher the difficulty the slower Stimpaks heal you.

I found out there's a perk that made Stimpacks heal you to full health practically instantly; so I guess that won't be a problem.

Each rank of the Medic perk enhances the efficiency of both stimpaks and RadAways. Rank 1 improves it to 40%, rank 2 to 60%, rank 3 to 80% and rank 4 to 100%. Rank 4 also increases the speed of stimpak healing. The Medicine bobblehead further increases the stimpaks' efficiency by 10%.

All that stuff with Survival mode sounds cool, expect saving the game, this is Bethesda game after all.. I don't want to fight bugs/crashes and if I want to reload the game (because of them) from 30-60+minutes session, then I will need to first find a bed, if the game will not crash before that lol.

Survival changes look fine, except for the saving thing, which is a terrible design choice for this crashprone bugfest. Adrenaline looks like it could be either interesting or dumb. No intention of replaying to find out, because it's still Fallout 4.

I'm looking forward to the content myself. I'm not a "hardcore" gamer as it were, but I'm hoping that the overall content is worth getting. Some locales in 4 disappoint me a lot. But yeah.

Let me look into the future for you....

Nope not worth it, spend your money on a good game that's worth your time.

On a serious note I find it ridiculous to raise the price on the season pass all of a sudden, why not choose a price and stick with it?

Can't wait to see how dumb Survival mode is when people start raging at the idea of no saves unless you're sleeping somewhere. Expect people to hug onto Sanctuary AFTER EVERY, SINGLE ENCOUNTER. This is going to be fucking hilarious, especially with such a buggy-ass game.

That's okay, mods will fix it when modders add a craftable sleeping bag to be used anywhere when they as well as everyone else sees the shortcomings of "survival" mode's "only sleeping in beds lets you save" feature(if they don't already).

There'll be a sleeping bag already. It won't give you the full benefit of a proper bed, but it will let you save and regenerate.

Weren't they just talking about the sleeping bags spread around Boston? It didn't sound like they'd allow us to carry around one with us. They simply stated what each bed you can find and sleep in will do for you.

Doesn't really say either way, but my assumption when reading the article was also that it was using pre-placed sleeping bags as an example.

The sleep only save is really stupid because of what others already mentioned, in a game using this engine where crashes happen frequently make no sense, maybe have the sleep save and then allow one "Survival Save" which can be saved at any time but gets overwritten each time.

The adrenaline is really stupid, so in a survival mode where we need to make the game harder, the player will just start dealing more damage over time like it is magic... In a game made for the player to deal super damage with just a couple of perks taken... Makes no sense to me add more "+damage" magic bonuses to a survival mode that already increases the player damage.

Combat: Combat is more lethal for everyone. You now deal, but also take, more damage. You can increase the damage you deal even further with "Adrenaline".

We got enchanted clothing and weapons.
We got a perk that allow you to breathe underwater.
We got robots and humans that can mutate.

It's magic yo!
Ain't gotta explain shit.

What's wrong with you? You totally forgot about kids that can survive in fridges for 200 years with just a pudding.
Magic indeed.

The adrenaline should only count for melee damage. It is sad to see that Bethesda has no clue how weapons work.
Wait! You have more adrenaline. Now your bullets will hit extra hard!

I mean let us face it, Fallout was never a setting about realism. Granted. But I never had the feeling that enchanted items for the lack of better words, really fitt in to it either. I mean it is alright that a rifle is doing more damage compared to a 9mm hand gun. Even though in real life it doesn't matter if you're really hit in the head by a pistol or rifle round. But, flame throwers with freezing effects? Breathing underwater trough a perk? It seems like they just copy pasted all this from Skyrim. Together with this randomized loot system.
