First round of Fallout 4 Reviews

So uh, https://twitter.com/DCDeacon/status/669600636141457409
Yeah, why exactly are 'subtitles' of all things region locked? I mean, if you wanted to play it with spanish subtitles then why can't you?

Hah!

"taking a risk" my ass.

Oh and: https://twitter.com/DCDeacon/status/669592132911525890
"Games evolve and change over time, I ain't going to try and justify this "evolution" or changes we made tho"

I don't know whether to love Petey-boy or hate him. All I know is that he makes my vagina sand up real fast.

I doubt he cares about Fallout or that he really believes in what he says, I think for him it is simply a job. Nothing more, nothing less. Like, OK! I have to say this or do that to sell the product!

Ahah. Hahahaha. HAHAHAHAHAHA.

Check this shit out.

From Jim Sterling's review

"What I love most about the companionship of Fallout 4 is the fact that, yes, you can pursue multiple romantic partnerships and the game totally allows it. You’re not locked into a single relationship, and can actually maintain more than one without getting judged or upsetting anybody. This is certainly the first game I’ve seen – and arguably the first mainstream one overall – that simply allows for polyamorous relationships without making a big deal about it."

Is anyone surprised? Anyone at all?
Sorry for replying to an old post.

Theres nothing wrong with polyamorous relationships- but theres no polyamorous relationships in F4. Its awful lazy writing where they didnt bother to have the game world acknowledge or register that you've made a choice or entered a relationship. Your character is a summy cheater if anything. I mean we're now praising Beth for their laziness, incompetence and lack of talent. Sigh.

Wait, I think I've read somewhere that if you flirt with someone while your love interest is present, it will negatively affect your relations. Is it not true? Never tried it myself.

At least Cait dislikes it if you're in a relationship with her and flirt with other people (when she's your current companion).

Sigh... ghoul respawning in one settlement, kill it. Dead-ghoul bodies staying, never disappearing from another settlement.
Atom-worshipper respawning in third settlement, nearly insta-kills me as soon as I arrive there
At one point, I have to try to get home-kozy in Red rocket garage with 3 dead super mutants just laying around

Is this also... a feature?

Am I the only one who didn't think the "raider package" was awemusing in FO3 either?

Am I the only one who's not hoping for, say, deathclaws spawning inside my home, in the next game?

Oh and the dead bodies even respawn, I found that out now. I allready noticed that the corpses near the Sanctuary bridge respawn. I took my time to drag the guy away, the dog wasn't draggable, but soon after they had respawned.
Why are dead bodies in your home so important to Bethesda? :I

Because I fred the girl on Human Error, the whole of Covenant turned hostile and to ally with them I had to kill everyone first.

Now that there are new Settlers they haven't bothered with cleaning the bodies. There is just people walking over the corpses of the previous inhabitants like it's nothing....

So, "taking risks" is "making the exact same game as always with a different coating to please the masses". Good to know, Petey.

Taking risks! Beeing bold! Or making something no one except for you can get it! It's stylistic. And everyone knows, art, has no limitations afterall!

It is at least as good like the Chewbacca defence.

Can we please stop comparing Bethesda to George Lucas? Regardless of what you thought of the prequels, at least George was the one who created Star Wars so he could do whatever he wanted with it. Bethesda took someone else's property and fucked it up much like J.J. Abrams is about to do.

And yes, I like the prequels. Not that people don't have the right to dislike them, but they are not as bad as everyone says. Would mean a lot to me if we could tone down these apple and orange comparisons. Thanks.

Your right. I would say a better comparison would be Indiana Jones.

So? And Fallout was ruined under Interplay already, a long time ago by a developer/publisher in a Galaxy far far away ...

The best pSW prequel movie was the third one.... and that one still sucked. Mostly suffering from the prequel syndrome where events that the original material implied to have occurred over a span of several years just happen within hours of each other just so they can stuff all the backstory on a single series.

But I agree that comparisons to old George are off base, at least he actually had a hand in creating the thing he then ruined, Bethesda on the other hand is commiting cultural vandalism along with trying to convince anyone that money can rewrite history. There are even people who think Bethesda created the Fallout franchise, some dude even told me that Bethesda owned Interplay in the 90's.... and he said it without a doubt on his mind.

These goddamn radiant quests...
I explore some shithole, specifically, to NOT do radiant quests. I come across some shit. Suddenly, I'm in a quest "go do some shit, that way", I do, and it fucking says "report back to shitfuck cowboyhead Preston"
NO.
NO, NO, NO

I report back to him

"hi, as usual i got some" new quest.
I report to him...

"hi, as usual i got some" a second quest.

I REPORT TO HIM...

"hi, as usual i got some!!!" a third... quest.

I... report... to him... !!!

"hi, as usual, i got some!!!" a FOURTH. Quest.

Four goddamn new radiant quests.

I also just found out that it is impossible to kill the bastard, no matter how many times you shoot him in the face.

Marcy Long, her husband, Mama Murphy and Sturges are ALL immortal. Despite the fact that they serve absolutely no propouse on the main quest. Specially the Long couple, they don't even have dialogue sequences or anything.... you can only trade them items and make them tend crops...

It was never ruined by Tim Cain or Brian Fargo though! :P

i.e. the creators of the series, not the people who owned it. In Lucas' case it's the same person, but not for Fallout.

George created Indiana Jones too. So it's not. :P

Also, didn't I used to be able to multiquote? I can't seem to do it anymore.

EDIT: Oh, I guess the icon changed. I see it now. Thanks. :P

I fully expect the DLC to have a cast of essential characters because Bethesda is so insistent on their rigid writing.
