Racism

@Hassknecht all the same, you could easily be a dickhead and from the interactions we’ve had, you’re not. It’s still commendable.

Even worse, you could be like me: exceedingly nice until you tell people you’re a Legion supporter so you can lull them into a false sense of security.

EDIT: it’s also good you’ve found something you stuck with long enough to get a degree for, rather than dropping out and going into the workforce to save up to live like a mountain man like me.

They weren't from Syria, but I used to live in the same apartment complex as a Mexican family that immigrated, legally, from Mexico City. It was a husband, his wife, and their three children. They were lovely people. Almost everyone avoided them and thought they were illegal, despite having no proof of this. I guess every immigrant is just automatically illegal and suspicious until proven otherwise. Even then, they're probably still illegal and up to no good. To top it off, there was a drug dealer in the same building. Guess who people were more worried about? The fuck is wrong with people?!

My aunt Maria is an illegal. Lovely woman, but treated with suspicion regardless.

I don't think I've ever met an illegal, but it's not my place to make that judgement and I wouldn't even ask if I had the opportunity, but not all of them are the evil people they're made out to be, regardless.

We’re all just people, in the end. Should be focused on helping eachother, not putting children in cages or whatever the American Right is doing.

(I hate the Left just as much, as a disclaimer.)

I base my political views on what I think is right, regardless of party, but I'm more left than I am right. But no way in hell will I support a man who struggles to form coherent sentences.

This made me laugh so much harder than it had any right to

What I find the most amusing is how self-righteous fighters against racism become the most racist persons without actually realizing it, while getting a free pass on their racist slurs since their pile of bullshit is wrapped in composite layers of righteous crusade mixed with virtue signalling.
Also this is the gayest thread on the interwebz, carry on!

This is a common rethoric that seems very easy to say, it rolls off the tongue: The least racist are the most racist!

The most even. The least racist, are the MOST racist, more racist than those who lynch, hang, and burn alive people. HYPERBOLE!

If the least racist are the most racist, and the most racist are the most racist... I'm guessing the point is to just give up, and go full yee-haw? Is that the point?

I feel like the line between actual racism and legitimate criticism of other cultures has blurred to near non-existence. Instead of actually addressing your arguments, even if they are rational and not intended to be malicious, people just pull the "you're a racist"-card to avoid actually having to defend their position. On the other hand though, true racism is often disguised as "valid criticism" as well.

I won't talk about my views here though, unless someone really wants me to elaborate.

I agree that sometimes people throw out the racism-argument in order to shorten a discussion, or if they are just very ready to react.
There's many legitimate grievances one can have with both people who just happen to be immigrants - and immigration itself. Integration is something that both takes time (at least 1-2 generations), the time between (which can litterally last a lifetime) can be a source of much frustration - legitimate frustration. It does not help if someone is not a racist - but trying to vent frustration - maybe even trying to find a solution - only to be met with hurls of accusations of being a sincerely evil person

The current political climate is very unfortunate though, because it's very hard to tell what someone's saying, if there's more "between the lines". Personally, I don't like notions of "sjw" and "virtue signalling", because those terms are there to discredit and ridicule *any* attempt at humanizing anybody marginalized - be it another race, or whatevs sexual prefs or disabilities or anything someone wants to defend for whatever reason "lol what a fag stop defending them [let us at them]"

Tbh, thinking about it too much tires me, I just wish people could get along :I
Cus when we do, all of us, that's when WE CAN TAKE DOWN THE MAN and not a day before :I

I never wrote that self-righteous fighters against racism are the least racist. What I wrote is that they are often the most racist persons, since in their mindset even perfectly non-racist argument translate automagically as "one ethnic group against another". More elaborate examples with quotes would be provided on request for anybody interested.

Can you give us an example in quotes of how anyone in this thread besides you is self-righteous?

After you give me an example where I wrote anybody in this thread is self-righteous.
You implied that the people who see themselves as least racist are in fact self righteous; am I right to assume you meant Crni, etc?

@Crni Vuk Are you the one who's been voluntarily working with Syrian refugees? That's a great thing to do! Bless you, good sir.

Not so much with Syrians, I worked for 2 years in a school as some sort of educator, there was one girl as refugee from Syriah with her family. I've meet mostly refugees from Afghanistan and Africa. For the moment I am getting a 3 year job training and doing som charity work
