Star Wars is the joke, I'm amazed people take that film so seriously. For a 10 year old in 1977 it would have been glorious, but after 35 years, who cares, the lore was snuffed out years ago.

Well they have a kind of quality which I am missing in many movies today. And that without giving you a-splosions and death people on every corner.

I like the whole Star Wars saga, all six movies. They're supposed to be children movies, George Lucas never stated anything else, and I reckon their forte is that they appeal to grown-ups as well.

I watched 5 of them again very recently and I was surprised to rediscover that they take place in the past, not the future. That's just brilliant when you think about it.

Probably you are right. Though when I think about it, Lucas takes a lot of credit for much of the stuff. Yet I doubt that all was his idea. Sure not everything. Particularly when you compare the old movies with the new movies which lack coherence and vision. Not to mention greeeen screeeen. Everything. Everywhere. Nothing else. And it shows. From the perspective that makes the new movies quite boring compared to the old ones which allowed for far more use of artistic skills with the camera. CGI is a great tool and it helps making movies better but you really should only use it where it is really needed (movies like Avatar are the exception but that is a different issue). The new movies could have done without much of that stuff. But that would have left the movie with nothing else but the characters of which almost no one was really memorable. And I am usual easy to please with movies and I sure don't see the new SW movies as bad. But just compare a Amidala with Leia. Or Qui Gon with Obi Wan (old one). Or just Darth Vader which well, is still one of the most liked movie villains in history. And that alone tells a lot. Lucas was the one who controlled everything in the new movies. So he was responsible for many things. That goes for the good and the bad things. Might not have been bad to ask the people working for you sometimes about their opinion and to listen to them.

I think Plinkets joke-review really nails many of the issues down. Explains the whole situation nicely. Despite the very rough humor those are very good reviews.

He is not really lying you know, while the movie itself is entertaining the expanded universe have really hurt the movie.

I sometimes wonder if it was such a good idea of having loads of people play in Star Wars' playground adding all kinds of bullshit.

In Star Trek at least they handle the formula "If its not on the screen its not canon"

That game just looks like a huge parody or that they are mocking starwars. And to think at one time the kinect had so much promise. That poor abused periferal...

Did you ever even watch the original three movies? They were a jumbled mess of plotholes, weird incest themes brought on by later changes in storyline, and the most stupid ending possible. If anything, the three new ones are way more coherent.

I'm not saying the new ones are in any way good movies, Crni. I'm just saying the original ones weren't all that coherent eithrer. Even less so.

thats where I have to disagree though. Where was the "old" star wars movie not coherent? For an light-sci-fi-fantasy flick anyway. I think the story Star Wars told with the old movies was pretty coherent. It was easy to recognize the characters, follow their motivations and the changes they had over the films. Like Luke becoming a Jedi, Han Solo a war Hero etc. It sure was much more coherent then the new movies.

Dude, just google "star wars plotholes". I'm not going to spell out the plotholes of the entire damn trilogy to you.
