This reminds me of a post I saw on the fallout subreddit a little while ago, saying that fallout fans shouldn’t shit on Bethesda because Bethesda “saved” fallout and if it wasn’t for them then fallout wouldn’t be as popular as it is now. It’s hard to believe someone can make that argument unironically.I mean more people know about it than any other Fallout.
This was what I meant to reply toAll the lemons on here are just upset that Bethesda built Fallout into a global cultural force as opposed to the originals. Stay mad.
That's such a damning comment because the larger chunk of mods for Bethesda games are mods that make their games less crap. Also, which games have inspired more mods and fostered those communities?
See, I was nice and told the kid to not go on the Codex because I knew that if he did it would be like a baby gazelle walking into a pride of hungry and angry lions. Don't let it be said that I am completely heartless.I still remember mfkndggrfll. It was like a month of arguing and the thread (arguing Fallout 3 is better than Fallout 2) he made had like 800 posts. Then he went to the Codex after Hass suggested for him to go there and he got properly figurately gangbanged.
Guess that qualifies as a funny argument with a Bethesda apologist.
Doesn't every mod make a game less crap/better though? At least they set out with that goal. That's such a damning comment because the larger chunk of mods for Bethesda games are mods that make their games less crap.
My point is that we don’t have an obligation to give Bethesda credit for making the series popular. Who gives a fuck if it’s popular, I’d rather it be actually good. Not wrong though? Change is not always bad and neither is it even that far removed. The og Fallouts are not Shakespeare my dudes. Also, which games have inspired more mods and fostered those communities?
I would make the argument Bethesda didn't even really change anything. They just made Oblivion with guns. Not wrong though? Change is not always bad and neither is it even that far removed. oh, it’s there. Just hidden beneath a layer of spite.See, I was nice and told the kid to not go on the Codex because I knew that if he did it would be like a baby gazelle walking into a pride of hungry and angry lions. Don't let it be said that I am completely heartless.
Everyone has what they consider to be good though, which is fine, not refuting it.My point is that we don’t have an obligation to give Bethesda credit for making the series popular. Who gives a fuck if it’s popular, I’d rather it be actually good.
Oblivion is the best RPG ever, and that opinion was too edgy for Reddit. Excuse me while I tell the Codex about this hot take.Everyone has what they consider to be good though, which is fine, not refuting it.
