    It's not decent actually. The writing is awful and the world makes no sense. They tried to put 3 different settings together and it doesn't work. The combat is bad too.

    What happened to the grit and dark atmosphere in fallout 1 and 2. Fallout 4's atmosphere feels way too cheerful for a fucking apocalypse

    Following this narrative, it would not take long for most striking traces of nuclear holocaust to finally become entirely cleared away, all rubble removed, all cities rebuilt. Fallout would no longer be Fallout. Keeping the "spirit" of the game equals going against the narrative of the game. It's a catch 22.

    meh to be fair it is set 210 years into the future. problem is the tone doesn't exactly fit with the desolate and empty commonwealth. to me, fallout is best as a western. that way you can have time move forward but keep the lawlessness and wasteland feel. and its always had western elements which is something 3&4 are sorely lacking.

    I mean, like others said and the obvious. Tolkien reworked a lot of European stuff for his works and seems people in the modern age prefer that style of it to the traditional ones he worked off of.
    Also, as long as it sells.
    JRPGs do happen to have the most unique but I believe there are other fantasy titles you can find that aren't too Tolkien-esque. Moreso than you'd think but not enough to be satisfied by it.

    They are all old games. I got shogo, tomb raider 1,2, and 3, clive barker's undying, crusader: no regret, and the last game and only game that still kinda modorn is Darksiders 1.

    Openworlds are overrated. There no point to haveing a huge map if there is nothing to do. Take red dead and GTA for example.

    Yeah, when I think Sandboxes, I always think of daggerfall and morrowind, manly daggerfall. I also wish games used hub areas and small open areas more often instead. For example games like deus ex, vampire the masquerade, and yakuza. Small maps but full of content with worlds that feel more alive than any huge ass empty wasteland like in any GTA game.

    Openworlds are just something developers tack onto most games because it's a selling point to a lot of people.
    I will say openworlds/sandboxes have their places and sometimes are done well.
    Look at Fallout 1 vs any AAA openworld RPG. Fallout 1 knows how to direct you throughout the world without markers. I don't think the same rules should apply to all genres though.

    Beside, Bethesda games already cease to be RPG after morrowind as they no longer have the developer and writer for the job, and the company focus also changed, nowadays bethesda games at best are just RPGs for people don't really like RPG much.

    GZDoom won't work right for some reason. Enemies and ammo are invisible for some reason. It's really pissing me off.

    Oh well atleast ZDoom is still working fine, though I would still perfer to have GZ working so I can play my mods that only work with GZ.

    Berserk went down after the golden age arc. It get's worse after the conviction arc. Vinland saga and vagabond are better.
