The NCR Ending Is Canon

There is no canon ending to New Vegas. What Kellogg ('s cereal) said was in the Fallout 2 era. So guys don't go "screw Bethesda, kill them all" and that. They still make good fallout games, but sure they don't follow every lore detail, but at least they try.

I imagine there is a canon ending to New Vegas, we're just going to need to wait until the next Fallout game done on the West Coast to find out. Presumably Bethesda is content to leave the west coast Fallout lore to people with ties to Interplay/Black Isle.

I would imagine that the potential canon endings from order of most likely to least likely are: Independent, NCR, House, Legion; and Independent and NCR are both much more likely than House and House is much more likely than a Legion victory. Probably the most narratively fruitful outcome (without requiring us to revisit the Mojave to check in on it) would be an NCR setback and a nominal "good guy" ending with the Courier taking charge. An NCR victory leaves the question open of "when will their expansion be stopped, and force them to look inward; a House victory leaves open the question of "so, that space program..."; and a Legion victory sort of requires you to comment on the Legion's inevitable collapse and the uprising against them.

Good fallout games? Ever played Fallout 1 and 2?

I could argue it. I really could, I could try to prove you wrong, to show you. But I'm tired, so:

H-E-R-E-S-Y.

They make horrible Fallout games. Period.

Replay the game. Altho you need to sacrifice Cass to see it, the entire weapons exchange is a trap. The NCR surrounds the warehouse and they kill the entire legion platoon.

I see. That is interesting.

yep. aniway gun runner and van graffs are against each other, and van graffs compete with their business rivals with assassination and unfair competition, against ncr laws. "the Van Graffs hate the NCR mostly as they often stop their expansion with regulations and taxes. They also stated how at one point they would have been able to take on the NCR head-to-head, but as of the New Vegas era the NCR is said to be too large" (fallout wiki). What if Van graffs supports a revolution of some of the city-states in new california. New Reno,The Hub and LA. Many farmers could easely be against Shady Sands during the civil war due to the high taxes imposed by Kimball to sustain thr mojave militar campaign.
Also, some chapters of the brotherhod could join the war to subvert shady sands, fighting with Van Graffs even if they use energy weapons and open their bunkers to the wasteland while other chapters will remain loyal to the codex and neutral during the revolution.
Considering tha Hardin's taks to accept you into the BOS is literary killing the Van Graffs on their own store, I very much doubt the BOS would join a Van Graff led revolution...
Also the Van Graff really gain nothing with dissolving the NCR or going to war against them. The NCR is an entire army and the Van Graffs are just a small mafia, mafias don't usually have plans for becoming the political leaders of a country because is the structure of them that allows them to thrive.

Van graffs don't want to become leaders, just dissolve ncr in bunch of city-states in which they will have weapon monopoly due the gun runners' destruction and the lack of ncr's laws.
also you should go to naples to see how mafias are the leaders of a huge portion of my country :/

That's if Hardin was the leader. Look at Mcnamara (is that how it's spelled?) he was willing to negotiate with Super Mutants.

yep. I suggested just some chapters will help the van graffs. and so the slavist gilde, the few renmants of gangs like jackals or khans and new reno organized crime

McNamara is considered too liberal within te Brotherhood, Hardin is more in line with what the regular BOS elder would be like.

It won't matter because Bethesda doesn't give a shit about New Vegas.

I count my blessings that at least Fallout 1, 2, and Tactics are acknowledged.

Yeah, though it might end up being bad.
This. After Harold in FO3, I don't want Bethesda to touch any of the FO1/2 lore, they'll just fuck it all up. I'm kinda happy that they're ignoring New Vegas in the storyline as well, but I do resent them for not even mentioning NV in any of their interviews or even that they used it for inspiration.

Yep, and unless the player helps Hardin, McNamara is going to stay.

My point is that Hardin is a better reference point for how most chapters of the BOS would act rather than McNamara....

Van graffs don't want to become leaders, just dissolve ncr in bunch of city-states in which they will have weapon monopoly due the gun runners' destruction and the lack of ncr's laws.

But they are the leaders by taking advantage of corrupt politicians and officials, they didn't take over with a civil war, that would hurt their bussiness.

But as we're talking about the Mojave Chapter we can assume it's political stance by Mac.
