The NCR Ending Is Canon

It would be pretty interesting to set a game in NCR territory after they've pretty thoroughly civilized the region, but it would have to be awfully different from a normal Bethesda game since there would be much, much less to fight.

Josh Sawyer did mention recently he would like do a game set in the Boneyard to see what worked and what didn't work.

"Recently" is a bit of a stretch. As far as I remember, Feargus mentioned it years ago in some interview.

Independent Vegas has the highest likely hood of being canon because it can cause the least amount of issues for a future game. They can just brush off the Mojave happenings and continue on with both the NCR and Legion being alive but weakened. Pro NCR or Pro Legion gives one of the two way too much power.

Independent Vegas is too general, seeing as how the Courier is an undefined character having him/her become the ruler of Vegas would force the Courier to become a super generalised generous ruler dude. I thought the DLC pointed towards a NCR victory.

I think the Courier would get nothing more than a brief mention. Assuming Obsidian made another Fallout I doubt it'd be anywhere near the Mojave so they'd do what most RPGs do and leave up to your imagination what ending happened.

Also none of the DLC really gave me a pro-NCR or a pro-Legion feeling. Dead Money had to do with a BOS member gone rogue and people's greed/inability to let go, Honest Hearts was about a former Legion member and a bunch of Tribals in Utah, Old World Blues wrapped up the background to Dead Money's leadup and started putting Ulysses a lot more in your face directly and then Lonesome Road was about you and Ulysses' past and he hated both the NCR and Legion equally. The only one that really has anything Pro-NCR in it is if you decide to blow up the Legion base in Lonesome Road and don't touch the NCR.

Without Benny's interference, the Courier would've gotten the chip directly to Mr House. In my opinion, while I didn't side with him, his seems like a viable canon ending.

Well, I know @Dr Fallout is still holding out for a canon Legion ending.

"Expanded rapidly"
The NCR expands rapidly regardless of annexing Vegas or not. The NCR's greatest flaw is that they cover and take too much land for their own good, if Vegas was Legion territory the NCR would probably expand around Vegas towards Utah where they'd probably fight the Legion.

Just because the NCR is expanding rapidly doesn't mean too much as its shown on New Vegas that the NCR expands rapidly even without Vegas.

We have to agree that RangerBoo clearly made this for attention. I mean, like fallout 4 or not, he clearly made this just to complain. FACT

I doubt that this was made for attention, but if we took out all the threads in this forum that didn't complain about Fallout 4 then it would be pretty lifeless and empty. Well, there's still The Order (fun bunch to watch, also scary) and a truckload of American politics in General Discussion, but Fallout 4 is what really seems to set the spark here.

There's not really anything else to complain about.

After all, we here (well, me at least :-D) are a bunch of entitled nerdy elitist pricks who have nothing better to do with their time than criticise a fundamentally flawed game, and maybe sometimes Donald Trump. But mostly the fundamentally flawed game.

It's odd that, that was his first (and likely last) message, did you just come here to callout RangerBoo?

Either way, just clarifying to anyone who isn't clear on the issue - the NCR ending is not canon, just yet. One ending will have to be canon sooner or later, even if Obsidian is the one to pick it, but the NCR as mentioned in Fallout 4 are that of the Fallout 2 era.

Hope it's Legion, that's the most interesting but who knows with Bethesda. It's reasonable they would put pressure on one ending if they wanted to.

Fanon/canon/whatever. The fact is; I, and probably most of the people on NMA, have a better understanding and knowledge of the Fallout series than Bethesda does.

Bethesda can say whatever they want. Doesn't mean shit when their idea of the Fallout universe is what if the bombs fell in the year 1950.
