  • I just bought approx 50 dollars worth of Italian gellato. Was that wrong of me?

As an Italian, no. If anything it was the best decision you could’ve made.

Just watch out for the Vegan Police.

Made in Italy too. This particular grocery store is a minefield, it's just full of fancy import stuff, and will just murder your wallet. Once in a while I'll go there, and just have some tastes of the big life

I remember hearing stuff like beer, chocolate, cigarettes, etc. is really expensive in Norway. Fish is fairly cheap.
Just learned of Inuit folk-tales relating to hostile interaction with Norse explorers

Ahh right it involved the Germans and their Thule obsession. I'll find it.

Dang, are these public domain type archives? I thought Wikisource was a treasure-trove! I've yet to actually read most of the Sagas, there's so much to catch up on

Not exactly. They have a Discord group apparently though. Keep in mind they will be mainly occultists but they will be well read.
TV pet peeve: Unsolved mysteries - where the conclusion of the program remains "we might never know" - thanks, I could have guessed that >:I

Exactly my point! And indeed, if the point of the docu is to expose failings in a procedure or something, sure - but then don't bait viewers with the murder-mystery itself.

Because documentaries are now entertainment instead of education.

I am always amazed at some people's attitude towards "the logical". I just saw someone arguing that it seemed strange that America was named

Amerigo got his name from somewhere. Amirite?

Yes, because Americo is from Americus which is from Emmerich or something like that in German which means Brave /Strong/Whole Ruler or Brave Home. Which is a kickass name.

It's not 'logical' to assume the first name bias, though that's just...biased.
Although I appreciate the sentiment, I'm not at all a fan of certain Youtube uploads having their title and description translated

Norwegian is one of the smaller spoken languages in the world, about 5-6 mill. speakers, however it is 20th largest Wiki, and yet it is only one tenth of the size of English, in terms of number of articles, and yet smaller in terms of actual article content (most are stubs)

I appreciate all the sentiment, inclusion, translation, and ESPECIALLY if it is written coherently and intelligibly (which is like, a super-plus, to be able to understand your own damn language), but wow... for now it's like, mostly frustration-ville of growing-pain nonsense

Yeah, it's weird. At first O thought "Wait, someone dubbed a Lindsay Ellis video or something?" Then realized it was just the title getting auto translated.
Whenever I see photos of poutine, I always think "jeez, that was the best picture they could find!?"

Poutine always looks like someone went to McDonald's, came home and barfed into a bowl.
Havin a glass of mead. It's okay. Not a "whoa, new favorite!" or anything, but I can see people drinking it.

Mead's pretty good. There are some breweries I've been to that make some really good meads and wines.

I've been visualizing a pants-on-his-ankles superherodude swinging from his own ass-silk, he'd clench, loosen from the thread, do his usual summersaults, for then to aim his rectum, shoot another string of ass-silk, and keep swinging, "wooo-ho-hooo!"

In the Venture bros. There is a character that is a anatomically correct Spiderman. He has a butthole on his spine that he cleans with a q-tip.

I love Venture Bros. I haven't seen it in forever since I don't have TV anymore though. Should look into buying the seasons.
I just cut a tiny lil piece of thumb off a me

Oh, and it was accidental. I got this tiny knife, for small slicing, IKEA, sharp as a motherfucker, it terrifies me. I got ANOTHER knife that is near identical, but really dull. I was cutting tomato, confident and happy I had the dull knife, but amazed at how well it suddenly cut. Guess the rest.

Knives are fun. Welcome to the Almost-Amputation-Association! I almost had to self amputate a frostbitten finger a couple months back. We all have fun stories here :)

Being a cook I've taken off several bits of myself. My poor wife's first memory of me cooking was me taking off the tip of my right middle finger. Scar is still there. It happens. Still don't have any baker's lines myself though. ( Rim of a hot sheet pan burn) Cuts and burns. As far as knives go keep them sharp. Cutting a tomato or yourself is better sharp than dull.
Btw, "The Doors" are excrutiatingly boring, every damn song just bores me to tears. There, I said it.

I hate The Doors, so me and you both brother. CCR is freaking awesome, and while I like AC/DC, there are so many other bands I'd rather listen to. I think they are overrated. Iron Maiden I am just neutral on.

Or, I have a chronic bloating issue (thank you.), and I googled it cus, you know, that's what you do. "I eat air all the time. Now I'm bloated! What suggestions are out there, from the medical community?"
"Tips: Try not to eat air. Try not to drink air. Try to not fill yourself with air on a regular basis."

µ-Ziq's Xenith Filigree Anus is not only an awesome track, but is one of the better track names ever
